ABOUT US
Space Matters provides advice that is focused on achieving the best outcome for each client, whether that be a targeted refurbishment, a major change to the physical environment, or optimising how existing space is used and managed.
We are not aligned to any pre-conceived architectural or design outcome. Our advice and recommendations are independent, practical, and based on a deep understanding of operational needs, user experience and long-term business objectives.
Our recommendations draw on rigorous research, insight into the changing nature of work and learning, and extensive experience across workplace, education and community environments in a wide range of sectors and geographies.
We place strong importance on a consultative and collaborative approach. We work closely with clients and project teams to develop solutions that are practical, well considered and as future-ready as possible.
Julia Simmons, founder of Space Matters, has over 20 years experience providing strategic workplace and design advisory services. Her collaborative approach and proven track record mean she is frequently engaged by leading architectural firms, as well as corporate, education and public sector organisations seeking specialist expertise in workplace strategy and spatial planning.
